Luumu offers Finnish and Swedish language opportunities locally in-person and virtually world-wide. We have worked with students in the US, Canada, Scotland and even Finland!

We have a depth of Finnish teaching (14 years+), Swedish teaching (12 years+), and curriculum development experience. We offer insights that only fellow learners and former residents of Finland and Sweden have! Finnish and Swedish can be challenging. While apps and books can be a great way to start gaining vocabulary or review what you know, there is no replacement for live instruction. Finnish is a different kind of language with more complex grammar than most other languages. That is what makes Finnish so neat! Let Luumu support you on your language learning journey, whether you are studying Finnish, Swedish, or both!

We are currently offering a FREE Finnish Conversation Hour (keskustelutunti) group on Tuesdays 7-8p Central Time on Zoom. Starting in October, we are adding one Saturday morning a month to our rotation. We will meet one Saturday a month 10-11a CT. Email us for details and schedule.

We also offer group and private highly customizable lessons that fit your schedule either in-person in Minneapolis/Saint Paul or virtually world-wide!

In Fall 2022, we taught two beginning Finnish courses online in collaboration with the Finnish American Folk School in Hancock, MI.
