Meade enjoying some luonto (nature)

Hei, I am Meade and my writing will be popping up in Luumu’s blog — Fiercely Friendly + Aggressively Nordic — to offer some insights into Finnish and Finnish-American culture, particularly that of sauna. I am a lover of all things sauna, a proponent of outdoor living and of lovely, thoughtful architecture. First and foremost, I am a community member. You may find me exploring the forest on deer paths, or swimming in any water that suits me, playing with little children or dancing (quite badly) with my partner.

Graduating from the University of Minnesota in May 2021, I have my architecture undergraduate degree. There, I also earned my Finnish language proficiency. I have had wonderful opportunities to connect my passion for Finnish language, culture, music and architecture through spheres like Salolampi, University of Minnesota, and playing fiddle with Ralph Tuttila of FinnHall and Lauluaika.

Traveling far and wide in my search for sauna, I am now interpreting this love into a career through design and writing.
